Can I request an early check-in?
Early check-in is based on availability. Patterns for our departing guests vary daily. If you arrive early, we would be happy to store your luggage for you until your room is ready. In the event that your room is available, the hotel will provide an early check-in when possible. If you wish for your room to be guaranteed for an early check-in, we would be happy to secure your room a night prior, with current room and tax applied to your bill.
Can I request a late check-out?
Late check-out is based on availability. Please reach out to our front desk and they will let you know if it is possible for a complimentary check-out at 1pm. Unrequested late check-out will be subject to an additional 50 percent charge of the registered room rate. Departures after 4pm will be subject to an additional full night’s stay at registered rate.
Can you hold my luggage after check-out?
Absolutely. We’re happy to store your luggage the same day as your departure date.
What is required to check-in?
Please bring a valid government issued ID and a valid credit card. You can use cash or a credit card at check-out to settle your bill.
Will I be charged for an early departure?
If your booking is prepaid and non-refundable, then the full stay rate will still be charged. All other reservations will be charged the full amount, including taxes and fees.
What is the cancellation fee?
We have a $25 cancellation fee on all canceled reservations. Reservations must be canceled or modified by 4pm at least 72-hours prior to scheduled arrival date to avoid a full cancellation fee equal to the first night’s room rate and tax. Unscheduled departures will be charged 100 percent of the remaining room rate and applicable tax. Special cancellation policies may apply for packages, promotions, groups, or negotiated business rates.

Does the hotel provide any Wi-Fi services?
Yes, in-room Wi-Fi is included in your daily amenity fee. We also offer complimentary Wi-Fi in the main lobby. If you wish to have additional bandwidth, the connection is available for a nominal fee.
Do you have connecting rooms?
Yes, we do have connecting rooms. Please make arrangements with us in advance so that we can accommodate your request.
What is the best way to get from Portland International Airport PDX to The Hotel Zags Portland?
Portland International Airport is 13 miles from The Hotel Zags. If you are driving, it is a 19-minute drive. We offer on-site valet parking. Additionally, the MAX light rail provides convenient round-trip public transportation from Portland International Airport (USD $2.50 each direction). The hotel is a short 10-minute walk from the light rail stop.
Does the hotel have a courtesy shuttle to and from the local airports?
We do not have a courtesy shuttle, but the concierge will be able to assist with your transportation requests, including shuttles, sedans, or limousine services to and from the airport. What are the parking options at the hotel?
Our guests can make use of our daily self-parking. Fees are $28 per night for regular-size vehicles with unlimited in and out privileges.
What is the guest amenities fee?
The hotel charges a guest amenities fee of $25 plus tax per room, per night, in addition to your room rate. This fee provides the following services: in-room bottled water, in-room coffee and tea, a $15 food-and-beverage credit for the restaurant or sundry shop, access to local 24 Hour Fitness gym, unlimited local and 800 phone calls, high-speed Wi-Fi, internet access and printing services, access to our Gear Shed and game lounge, The Colosseum.
Is the hotel pet-friendly? Are there restrictions for weight, height or types?
Yes, The Hotel Zags is a pet-friendly hotel. Upon check-in, a signed pet agreement will be required. Pets up to 40 lbs. are allowed. All pets enjoy a plush bed, a tasty treat, and food and water bowls. Our concierge team can also recommend local pet-friendly parks, restaurants and dog-walking services. Pet charge is $65 per stay.
Does the hotel offer laundry services on-site?
Laundry services are available for a nominal fee.
Do you have a pool?
We do not have a pool.
What is The Hotel Zag’s smoking policy?
The Hotel Zags is a smoke-free environment. Smoking in your room will result in a daily $350 fine.
Where can I smoke?
We have a smoking area outside adjacent to our porte cochère.
How do I get to the Pearl District?
With some of the city’s best shopping and dining, the Pearl District is one just mile away from The Hotel Zags. It is a short stroll or you can take the street car from the Portland State University Urban Center on 6th and Mill. Happy exploring!
DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Reservations must be cancelled/modified outside of 72-hour policy. 100% of the remaining room rate and applicable tax will be charged for unscheduled departures.
The 72-hour cancellation policy does not apply to any pre-paid, non-refundable offers.
All reservations must be guaranteed with credit card at time of booking. An authorization equal to the first nights’ room and tax will be processed 72-hours in advance of arrival. If the method of payment declines on authorization the reservation will be considered non-guaranteed and will result in cancellation of the reservation 24-hours after communication of payment failure, unless a valid credit card is provided within that time frame.
Group Cancellation Policy: A separate cancellation policy applies for all call-in group cancellations. Please contact your group coordinator for details on the specific policy.
Non-Refundable Cancellation Policy: This reservation requires full pre-payment and is non-cancellable, non-amendable and non-refundable. We will charge the full amount of the reservation to the credit card you used to make this reservation shortly after the reservation is made.
EARLY ARRIVAL AND LATE DEPARTURE POLICIES
Early Arrival Policy: We do our very best to accommodate our guests’ travel schedule. We get that travelling is sometimes tiring! Although we can never guarantee a room will be available for check-in prior to 4pm we will work with guests who arrive early. If a room within your room type booked is available and clean we will gladly check you in without any additional fee. If the room type you booked is not available we will place you on a priority list and happily store your belongings in a secured room. If you do require an arrival very early in the morning, booking a room for the night before is the best way to guarantee your early arrival.
Late Departure Policy: Sometimes you just don’t want to get out of bed or that lunch meeting is running late. We get it! We will do our very best to work with our guests who need a little longer on the room. Late departures are based on availability. If you require a late departure after 1pm, there is a charge of $25 + tax per hour up until 4pm, at which point the cost is our best available rate for that night.
The Hotel Zags Portland is a non-smoking hotel for all guestrooms, hallways, stairwells and public spaces. A $350 room recovery fee will be charged to the registered guests for smoking in the guestroom. This includes tobacco products, marijuana products and vaping.
The Hotels Zags Portland offers $48 overnight self-parking in addition to $15 Daily/Event Parking (daylight hours).
TAXES & FEES
Taxes: 15.3% State Occupancy and City Tourism tax
Daily Amenity Fee: $25 + tax per night per room is additional to the room rate.

As part of our commitment to provide the highest level of service to our guests, The Hotel Zags Portland welcomes pets staying with their owners in designated guest rooms. The Hotel Zags Portland does charge a $65 one-time deep cleaning fee. This fee will be added to your reservation upon check-in and is nonrefundable.
To ensure a comfortable stay for all guests of The Hotel Zags Portland, we have developed the following guidelines for pet etiquette:
- Weight limit for dogs is 80 pounds.
- There is a limit of two pets per guest room. Any unreported pet will be charged a $350 nonrefundable cleaning fee.
- Pet owner agrees to keep their pet on a leash or in a kennel while on The Hotel Zags Portland property. In order to maintain a harmonious environment for all our guests, pets are welcome on the patio in our courtyard. Unfortunately, Nel Centro and their patio is only open to service animals.
- Pet owner/guest agrees not to leave their pet unattended at any time while the pet is at The Hotel Zags Portland.
- A pet that becomes aggressive or disruptive to any The Hotel Zags Portland guest or employee must be immediately removed from the hotel upon request.
- Pet owner/guest agrees that if their pet barks in the guest room and becomes a disturbance to other guests, Pet owner/guest must depart hotel at Management discretion.
- Pet owner accepts full responsibility for any and all liability, claims, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) for personal injury or property damage that may result from the pet. The Company shall not bear any responsibility for the negligent or intentional acts of pet owner/guest or their pet which cause property damage to the facility or to the personal property of any other third persons, including, without limitation, the Company's guests, customers, employees, and agents, or personal injury to any other third persons, including, without limitation, the Company's guests, customers, employees, and agents utilizing Contractor’s services.
Pet Friendly Guest Rooms: There are a limited amount of designated pet friendly guest rooms located on property. Select pet friendly guest rooms are thoroughly cleaned and treated for potential allergens. Rooms are based upon availability.
Service Animals: With appropriate documentation, service animals are not be subject to the pet fee but must abide by applicable pet etiquette guidelines.
